A woman is like a tea bag: you cannot tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water. ~Eleanor Roosevelt
A woman is a powerhouse of talent, strength and hard work. One single empowered woman can be a turnaround story for her entire family. For the less fortunate and under-privileged families, which are dependent on a single income source, equipping the ladies in the house so that they can earn too, can give a big boost to the country’s economy. Yuva Parivartan, which focuses on youth empowerment, has several courses empowering women to help achieve financial independence.
Mrs. Kavita Prakash Kedari, a resident of Ghatkopar stitched blouses and did fall biding to earn a living. Kavita earned a meager Rs. 400-500 pm which was insufficient to meet her family’s needs. It was only when Yuva Parivartan came to her aid that she could reach where she is today.
Kavita enrolled into our Entrepreneurship Development Programme which helped her in developing not only her stitching skills, but also how to take her business to higher levels. The course gave her knowledge about various bank policies and schemes that would help her start her own business. The courses also taught her new techniques and designs for blouses which helped her enhance her creativity. With the help of all this, she is now able to earn Rs, 4,000-5,000 p.m. and has significantly imrpoved her financial status.
We work with 1000’s of women like Kavita, aiding them with necessary skills and resources to help improve their condition and have a secure future!
